TBIC Election - Special guest speakers next meeting!

On September 23rd, TBIC will hold our yearly election for our board of directors. I encourage all members to make the effort to attend this meeting and cast your vote for the people who you want to guide the future of TBIC.
As an incentive to have you attend, we have arranged to have 2 special guest speakers from "World Wide TV Products" to share their knowledge. Worldwide TV Products Inc. has been in the business of sourcing, developing, marketing and merchandising products through the TV Shopping Channels such as HSN, QVC, tSc The Shopping Channel –Canada and QVC-UK for the past 18 years. They have a proven track record and have been responsible for airing hundreds of products generating over $500 million in retail sales. Currently they are working exclusively with HSN.

Joining us will be: Gus Ibrahim and Matt Davis. Gus is Co-founder and Vice President of Worldwide TV Products, LLC. He is an accomplished marketing professional with a career long history of transforming unrealized potential into business results. Clients benefit from his extensive and diverse knowledge of the entire marketing process from the inception of a product or service to research, product design, international sourcing & manufacturing, brand strategy and execution, creative development, targeted marketing campaign development and execution. Gus operates out of 40,000 square foot facility in Clearwater, FL and maintains a staffed sourcing office in Beijing, China.

Matt Davis brings his clients strong product development and demonstration talents, along with a rare combination of HSN experiences as a buyer, vendor rep and on air guest. Matt has worked in merchandising and retail for over 20 years. At HSN, Matt was the buyer of record for a variety of products and businesses; fitness, vitamins, household electrics, kitchen electrics, storage and organization, tool and hardware and private label brands. His experience working with all aspects of the HSN process is invaluable.

Prototype 101 on 9-9-09

If you have ever had an idea for a new product, chances are good that you have had to build a model or prototype to show how it works. Often, building a prototype will teach you how how things need to be rearranged in order to work. Sometimes it can drag you back to the drawing board but that's better than spending a lot of time and money on something that doesn't work.
This week on 9/9/09, our special guest will be our friend Mark Kemper of www.ems-usa.com who will show us a bit more into the latest process of making something out of nothing... or rapid prototyping! Mark uses a special printer that creates 3D products out of powder and glue (or something like that...) and can let you realize your product for much less than most other methods of fabrication.
